Kidney stones are a common issue in Australia and affect 1 in 10 Australians.
While most of the time these stones will pass on their own, there are times when the stones can lead to severe pain, kidney problems and infections.
What are kidney stones?
Kidney stones are tiny, hard rocks that form inside your kidneys.
Normally, your kidneys clean your blood, remove waste from it and send that waste out of your body when you wee. But sometimes, the waste can build up and turn into these little stones.
These stones can get stuck in different places in your kidneys and bladder causing intense pain and usually they can come when you wee.
