Meet the JCTS NSW/ACT team

Dr Grant Leigh Saunders
Dr Grant Leigh Saunders is a proud Biripiman from the mid-north coast of NSW and an award winning Australian Indigenous filmmaker. With over 20 years’ experience in Indigenous media and higher education with a focus on delivering Aboriginal education/ competency training, history, society and politics, Grant is well placed to manage the delivery of cultural education for our new registrars to ensure the end goal of making health care service delivery to Indigenous patients culturally safe.

Christopher O’Brien
With over 20 years of experience in governance and senior management within the Aboriginal community-controlled health service (ACCHS) sector, Christopher’s passion lies in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, policy, and advocacy. He holds a particular interest in primary, acute, intensive, tertiary, and chronic care management, contributing significantly to the Quality Assurance for Aboriginal Medical Services (QAAMS) as the National Leader and Leader for NSW/ACT for 18 strong years.

Bronwyn Gwyther
Bronwyn is passionate about improving Aboriginal health and maintains a strong network of key stakeholders essential in that quest, especially in the Western Sydney region. However, Bronwyn’s role is to also provide cultural education and mentorship to GP Registrars placed in the Hunter Mid Coast region, North Sydney and Western Sydney Regions.

Jacqueline (Jackie) Price
Jackie is a proud Wiradjuri woman hailing from rural New South Wales, specifically Cootamundra. In her role at JCTS she orchestrates cultural education programs, engaging stakeholders at both state and national levels. Her role encompasses providing comprehensive cultural support, guidance, and education across all tiers of training.

Rhiannan Reid
Rhiannan is a proud Ngiyampaa & Wiradjuri woman from Gilgandra NSW. Rhiannan has a Diploma in Practice Management in Aboriginal Medical Services. Since graduating High School in 2016 she has experience in hospitality including waitressing at the Yulara Resort in Uluru, before joining GP Synergy in April 2018 as an Administration Trainee for the Education Coordination Team based in the Dubbo office. Whilst in her traineeship she completed Certificates III and IV in Business. She then gained a fulltime job with GP Synergy as the Program Support Officer in the Newcastle office and moved into the position of Administration Officer for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Education Unit. During her time with the unit, she also completed her Diploma in Practice Management in Aboriginal Medical Services. Rhiannan transitioned over to Joint Colleges Training Services (JCTS) in 2023 where she has since kept herrole as the Administration Officer for JCTS NSW & ACT.

Harry Beckers
Harry is a proud Bundjalung and South Sea Islander from Byron Bay Arakwal country in Northern NSW. He has a keen interest in and broad knowledge of Aboriginal mental health and wellbeing, and community support programs. Previously Harry worked across the North-Eastern NSW region for the Warruwi Responsible Gambling fund as a project worker. He has worked in community for many years in family services, employment and training. Harry has previously worked in North Coast Medicare Local as a Closing the Gap project worker and strongly supports the initiatives to promote the growth of our community development and control for a stronger future.
