Diploma of Practice Management - Aboriginal Medical Services
A nationally recognised qualification, the HLT57715 Diploma of Practice Management, is offered as a unique customised training program for Aboriginal community-controlled health service (ACCHS) and Aboriginal Health Training Facilities (AHTF) appropriate personnel.
It is delivered by TAFE NSW in partnership with the JCTS and is accredited and nationally recognised.
The Diploma has been developed to meet the needs of administrative and healthcare professionals in the ACCHS sector in areas of practice management, operations and business management, and governance knowledge offering administrative and health professionals the opportunity to gain a formal nationally recognised qualification.
This qualification covers employees who undertake a range of tasks and responsibilities requiring application of knowledge and skills to achieve results in line with an organisation’s business objectives and strategic direction. These employees manage the operations and promotion of professional practices in the health sector.

Funding and support
Course dates: 2026
The applicant must have a Certificate III or Certificate IV as a minimum, or have worked in the field for a minimum of two to three years in the industry.
Student placements are limited and current level of qualification and industry experience and knowledge is strongly considered.
This diploma is suitable for workers in positions such as:
- Practice Manager
- Service Manager
- Project Manager
- Operations Manager
- Senior or Executive Management
- CEOs
- Chair appointments
Costs are funded and managed by the JCTS team and the Away From Base (AFB) team with TAFE NSW and Services Australia for First Nations students including:
- Course and textbook fees
- Travel and accommodation
- Meals – breakfast, class lunches and dinner
The course will run in person over a total of 15 days.
The 2026 course dates are:
- 15-19 June 2026
- 17-21 August 2026
- 19-23 October 2026
