  • It makes parts of your lungs swell and fill with pus or other fluids
  • This can slow down the air moving in and out of your lungs which can make it harder to breathe.

What causes pneumonia?

  • Bacteria
  • Viruses
  • Fungi.

Are there any risks for getting pneumonia?

  • Being older
  • Smoking
  • Drinking alcohol regularly
  • Having an unhealthy diet
  • Having certain medical conditions like diabetes, heart problems or lung disease
  • Being sick with a cold or flu.
