Scabies

Scabies is a skin condition caused by a small, eight-legged mite called Sarcoptes scabiei, which burrows into the skin. Scabies is common in school-aged kids and is usually spread by skin-to-skin contact, like when holding hands, hugging or sleeping in the same bed. If scabies isn’t treated, it can spread to everyone living in your house. This is because the mites and their eggs can sit on things like sheets, couches and towels for 1-2 days.
