Urinary Tract Infections

A urinary tract infection (UTI) is an infection in your body’s urinary system. Your urinary system helps your body get rid of waste through wee.

UTIs can happen in:

  • Your bladder (the organ that stores wee before it comes out), this is known as cystitis
  • Your urethra (the tube that brings wee from your bladder to outside your body), this is known as urethritis
  • Your kidneys (the organs that filter your body and make wee), this is known as pyelonephritis.
